Judges's Critique

BIS LineupJudge: Mrs Christine Schofield (Cwsscwn)

I was very pleased and honoured to judge at this friendly, well run breed club show and sincerely thank the club for the opportunity.

I also want to thank the exhibitors for bringing such quality dogs under me and was surprised how few absentees there were.

DOG CLASSES

Class 1 - Minor Puppy Dog (1)

1. Reynolds’: Kamunting Castaway to Benoveor - a promising 6 ½ month puppy who is well made all through. Attractive head and expression, good length of neck set on a well- made body. Pleasing front and good bone. On the move he needs more confidence but his footfall is good. Best Puppy Dog.

Class 2 - Puppy Dog (2)

1. Reynolds’: Kamunting Castaway to Benoveor - Repeat
2. Luckett-Roynan’s: Solva Captain Vere - nice young chap but he was very unsettled on the move. I loved his head and expression, he has a good front and strong quarters.

Class 3 - Junior Dog (3)

1. Tew’s: Pamicks Believe You Can - very confident young man with a mischievous look that made me smile. Good balance throughout, pronounced pro-sternum, strong legs and strong quarters, a bit over exuberant on the move but he does have good reach and drive.
2. Hankins’: Haltonian Romeo with Woodelrond - love this young man for type and style. Spaniel all through, strong bone and neat feet. He just needs to develop his confidence.
3. Harvey’s: Homecomers Pan God the Wild to Mariemead

Class 4 - Special Yearling Dog (4)

1. Tew’s: Pamicks Believe You Can- Repeat

Class 7 - Graduate Dog (3)

1. Frost and Troth's: Cochnaid's Cartier Topaz JW - attractive masculine young dog, appealing head with good chiselling. Balanced outline good front, neck and correct topline. Moved steadily which gave him the class.

Strong quarters, which were used to advantage on the move giving a free flowing stride. Best Dog & BIS

I liked his head shape and ear set. He pleases in front and rear angulation. He moved well to win this class but unfortunately in the challenge for Best Veteran he appeared to wane.
