Even if you are not showing your dog why not come along to support the competitors. There's always refreshments available. It's a great opportunity to meet up with club members and see a multitude of Welsh Springers in one place. As we are located close to Chepstow it's a great setting-off place to go and explore the beautiful Wye Valley - there's the famous Chepstow Castle and the wonderful Tintern Abbey is just 5 miles away. Why not arrange a dog walk with friends and family and drop in to see us at lunchtime or later on to see the awards of the day's champions.
There's always a warm welcome at our shows and it's the ideal place if you want to learn more about the breed - we look forward to seeing you there.

Mrs Anne Worth (Sarabande)
When I married Nigel in 1974 I married into a “dog showing” family. Whilst Nigel’s first love was German Shepherds his dad showed terriers and an irish setter. Our first gundog arrived in 1975, an English setter and pointers arrived soon after.
In the late seventes Nigel bought me a Bichon puppy and in 1980 she became the very first UK Champion. Our love affair with WSS began in the early 1980s. Our first dog was Canisbay Casanova, a Ferndel Stroller son and some 14 years later he was followed by Shandwick Jack Frost and Shandwick Kristoffer. Kristoffer was top WSS Dog in 2008. Then Rose arrived and we started on our breeding journey. We have owned several champions at home and abroad including Australia and America.
My first judging appointment was in 1979. I judged five classes of Bichons and continued to judge toys at open show level while Nigel took on the gundogs. I first awarded CCs in Bichons in 1988 and had the privilege of judging the breed at Crufs in 2013.
I have now judged WSS at open show level for a few years and I am delighted and honoured to be asked to judge the Welsh Springer Spaniel Club of South Wales Open Show, in the birthplace of this lovely breed.
