Summer Rally & Dog Fun Day

The WSSCSW social get together and Dog Fun Day this year will be held at:
The Bridge Caravan Park and Camping Site, Dingestow, Monmouth, Gwent NP25 4DY

Saturday 18th to Sunday 19th July 2015 


IF YOU HAVEN'T YET BOOKED YOUR CAMPING OR CARAVAN PITCH DO SO ASAP ON 01600 740241 - Quote "Welsh Springer" as a booking reference.

FRIDAY
Some committee members will arrive at the campsite on Friday afternoon to start organising things for the weekend and to be there to welcome those arriving on Saturday.

SATURDAY
As those camping or caravanning arrive on Saturday we'll greet them with a cuppa and later in the afternoon we'll arrange a mass dog walk - either locally or just down the road in Monmouth.

In the evening we will have a meal and drinks in the village hall followed by a dog themed quiz. (Food not yet decided upon but it will be charged for - and if you want alcoholic drinks please bring a bottle). 

scurrySunday Timetable

We will be running a Scurry all day, with training available for dogs and owners that have not done it before, and later on there will be a Final competition for fastest WSS and fastest any other breed.

Refreshments available all day.

11.00 - Ringcraft training, for puppies and novice handlers

12.00 - Dog Show Match with the following classes:

  • Puppy class - 6-12 months on day of show
  • Yearling - 12-24 months on day of show
  • Open - for any dog or bitch 2 years and over
  • Veteran - 7 years and over

1 - 2.00 - Break for lunch

2.00 Fun Classes

Best Trick – this could be balancing a sausage on its nose, or football skills

Best 6 Legs, (must have at least one dog in team!) - this is judged on the whackiest walk, the knobbliest knees, the hairiest legs - whatever

Waggiest Tail - you will need to practice your technique to get your dog wagging.

Dog the Judge would most like to take home

Fancy Dress – theme – a famous person - be prepared for this one!

Egg and Spoon Race

Dog of the Day, President’s Choice, chosen from all dogs on the field throughout the day, not just showring.

Depending on weather and time available, there will be Grooming Demos, Working Demo, Club Supplies Stall, a Raffle

There will be prizes and/or certificates for all the events.


Please remember that although all the events are held in a large field you should "pick up" after your dog at all times. Also, of course, your dog should be under control at all times - they are each your own responsibility.
