Even if you are not showing your dog why not come along to support the competitors. There's always refreshments available. It's a great opportunity to meet up with club members and see a multitude of Welsh Springers in one place.

As we are located in Chepstow it's a great setting-off place to go and explore the beautiful Wye Valley - there's the famous Chepstow Castle and the wonderful Tintern Abbey is just 5 miles away. Why not arrange a dog walk with friends and family and drop in to see us at lunchtime or later on to see the awards of the day's champions.

There's always a warm welcome at our shows and it's the ideal place if you want to learn more about the breed - we look forward to seeing you there.

JUDGE'S PROFILE

Mrs Lesley Breeze (Clynewood)

lesley breeze 01Dogs have always featured in my life, startng from my early years when I learnt to walk by holding onto the tail of my English Setter. I still have a weak spot for English Setters!

Back in 1979 I had my first Welsh Springer, she was a rescue. I was hooked. My next Welsh came unexpectedly, when we went looking for a gas fire and came home with a WSS puppy bitch instead. It was about this time I found the WSSCSW.

I started ‘showing’ in 1998 with Pennylock Ivor of Clynewood, closely followed by Tannamoor Gwydion of Clynewood. He attained his stud book number and 1 RCC. Sadly he died young and I waited two long years before Glenbrows Paintbox at Clynewood arrived.

I started taking an interest in judging back in 1999, and have judged more frequently over the last few years. I have attended all the relevant seminars.

I am really looking forward to the opportunity of judging this lovely happy breed, at home in Wales.
