Autumn Get Together and Dog Walk - 02/10/22

Parc Cwm Darran has always been a popular destination for our informal dog walks and yesterday was no exception with 30 Welshies and their owners turning up on this glorious autumn morning.

Another great turn out for our Autumn Gathering and Dog Walk at Parc Cwm Darran on a very sunny October morning. 30 dogs brought along their humans to enjoy this wonderful location and unexpected wonderful weather.

It was great to see so many puppies turn up for the walk including several litter siblings who were meeting up for the first time since separating for their forever homes – and, of course it was great to meet some new owners who we hope will join us on future club get togethers.

Everyone loves to see a pack of puppies racing round tumbling over each other and being generally disreputable. This lovely gathering of Welshies ranged in age from 14 weeks up to 12 years old.

Before the walk started we gathered at the park’s amphitheatre for a group photo which was a bit of a challenge to get everyone in. We then set off for a walk around the lake – but being spaniels, and particularly puppies, many decided not to go around but in to the lake, where they are not really allowed – fortunately everyone managed to get them out before they could create too much chaos with the resident wildlife.

The walk took us to a local waterfall for another group photo, but unfortunately it’s been such a dry summer the waterfall had dried up but we did the group photo in anyway – you’ll have to imagine the waterfall in the background.

The younger dogs went back to the amphitheatre from here while the rest continued on a longer walk up through the woods. Back at the amphitheatre we were very grateful to Zoe Phillips who gave the new puppy owners a demonstration of her training techniques and answered their questions with some very useful tips
