YOUR JUDGES
Mrs Jan Reynolds
Dogs have always been a huge part of my life since childhood growing up with GSD’s & Min. Poodles. When Charlie & I married in 1980 we decided to follow in my grandfather’s footsteps & purchase our first Golden Retriever. Several years later in 1991 I took the plunge into the ring with a golden ‘Gwyngala Ambassador’ our Chester. He held his own in the ring winning (from an entry of well over 400) the DCC & BIS at the 1998 SWGRC Championship Show. That was it, I was well & truly hooked.
Our first two Welsh joined us in 1996, Kylowen litter brothers. Keverne gained his Stud Book number & was Vicky’s first boy. He adored the show ring & helped Vicky from the age of 12 win many classes at Championship shows in both breed & Junior Handling.
Although I still greatly miss our Goldens; many years on only Welsh share our lives, mostly jointly owned - some reside with me whilst the others share Vicky’s home with a GSP & Flat Coated Retriever thrown in for good measure!
Over subsequent years we have made up two Show Champions – Sh Ch Glenbrows Band of Brothers For Benoveor JW ShCM & Sh Ch Slapestones Hepburn for Benoveor. Several others have gained RCC’s and/or JW’s along the way. Although we have only bred a few litters; several have gained Stud Book numbers for their owners. We are also the proud breeders of Int/Ir Sh Ch Benoveor Olympus Has Fallen & Benoveor Can’t Buy Me love who is currently sitting on 1 CC & 2 RCC’s.
Now retired, I served as Hon. Secretary for over 25 years. Firstly, for Cornwall Gundog Club & then the more challenging role for Camborne/Redruth CS who host Top Dog Of Cornwall.
I am very much looking forward to judging at the Open Show & thank the Officers & Committee for their very kind invitation.
JAN REYNOLDS
Special Awards Judge - Mr. B. Molton (Braebrits)
I was raised in a farming family around working Gundogs and Pastoral breeds. My mother showed Miniature Wire Haired Dachshunds.
I have been showing since 2005, judging since 2009, making up one Champion and having four others in the RKC Stud Book. I currently award Challenge Certificates in Brittany.
I have a distinct fondness for the Spaniel breeds and I first judged Welsh Springer Spaniels in 2014.
I feel that to be invited to judge, in any capacity, at a Club Show is a great honour.
B. MOLTON
