200209 WSSCSW Open Show 322 wI would like to thank the Officers and Committee of the Club for inviting me to judge at their open show. I was made to feel so welcome by them all. I would also like to say thank you to my stewards Anita and Brian for being simply the best stewards you could ask for. My thanks also go to the exhibitors who braved the weather and got to the show and for the sporting way you accepted all my decisions and for the way you clapped everyone – it is so refreshing to see and long may it continue.

DOG CLASSES

Veteran Dog (3,2A)

1st – Ovey’s Bozidar Rio – 9 year old dog with a pleasing head and expression, dark medium sized eye, well boned with well laid shoulders, deep chested and well ribbed up, moderate rear angulation, well set on tail and correct carriage. Moved soundly but lacked enthusiasm.

Minor Puppy Dog (1,0A)

1st - Morphy’s Caergrawnt Tulip Painter – 8 months old dog who was clearly enjoying his day out. Rangy dog who needs time to fill his frame. Heads needs time to develop but has medium dark eyes, medium length square muzzle and correct bite. Moved happily.

Puppy Dog (3,1A)

1st – Hughes’ Hudolus Guto Glynn – 10 ½ month old balanced dog who gave his handler a hard time. Has good breed type. Well chiselled below the eyes, dark eye, deep chested, correct front angles, cat like feet, well muscled rear end. Once settled he moved well. BPD & BPIS

Yearling Dog (1,1A)

Novice Dog (1,1A)

Post Graduate Dog (5,2A)

1st – Crisp’s Roxdale Chewie – Dog who overall presented a pleasing picture. Nice dark eye with correct muzzle proportions. Moved soundly.
2nd – Bennett’s Helgen Romeo The Lover – Lovely head and expression, slightly domed and with dark eye, correct neck length, well boned, deep chested, correct topline with slightly arched loin, preferred 1st front movement on the day but moved soundly.

Masculine head and expression, muscular clean neck leading to well laid back shoulders, with corresponding length of upper arm, straight well boned front leading to cat feet, deep in brisket, well sprung ribs, well muscled rear end which he used to advantage on the move. Handled and presented well.
